Most people who use FightThis will write a good letter. The hard part — the part that stalls — is mailing it. Not because people don't intend to. Because "I'll do it tomorrow" happens six times before the deadline passes.
The post office is an errand. You need to be there during business hours. You need envelopes, stamps, the right form numbers. Certified mail adds a counter visit, two forms (PS 3800 and 3811), and a wait. For a person dealing with a denied insurance claim, an IRS notice, or a debt collector — this friction is real. It's why disputes fail not because the letter was wrong, but because it never left the house.
For some disputes, mailing method isn't just convenience — it's legally meaningful. The FDCPA's 30-day validation window runs from when you mail, not when they receive. Most IRS response guidance specifically recommends certified mail with return receipt. Insurance appeals often require a postmarked envelope to establish that you filed within the window. The letter you write is only as powerful as your ability to prove you sent it.
The mailing service we're building handles all of it: commercial-grade printing, professional addressing, proper USPS forms, tracking, and a delivery confirmation email to you. From your perspective, you click one button.

Questions about the mailing service.
How long until you mail my letter after I click the button?
Our target is same-day or next-business-day processing. We batch mail daily on business days.
What if the recipient address I entered is wrong?
We validate every address against USPS records before mailing. If it's flagged as undeliverable, we'll prompt you to correct it before charging for postage.
What happens if the recipient refuses delivery?
For certified mail, a refusal is documented by USPS and still constitutes a valid mailing attempt. In most legal contexts, this meets the "properly mailed" standard. We'll email you the status.
Can I still print and mail it myself instead?
Always. The PDF and DOCX you unlock are yours — print them, mail them yourself, hand-deliver them. The mailing service is optional convenience, not a requirement.
Will I get a tracking number?
Yes — for Certified Mail and Certified + Return Receipt. First-Class Mail is untracked by USPS. We'll email you the tracking number as soon as USPS scans it.
What if my letter is time-sensitive?
Let us know the deadline when you order. If you're cutting it close, we'll flag it and recommend Certified Mail so you have documented proof of timely mailing.
